We are sharing this request for critical and timely support for Mosaic project. After a decade of planning and $1M in investment, Mosaic Project's permit for a permanent home in Castro Valley is heading to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. This is quite literally a request for Mosaic’s long-term survival; if they are not approved, Mosaic will likely not survive another 10 years. One of Mosaic Project's key programs is the Outdoor Project, an evidence-based, social-emotional learning curriculum designed to address issues of difference, build self-esteem, and inspire inclusion for a diverse group of 4th and 5th graders. A donor purchased land on Cull Canyon Road and gave it to Mosaic to use for their Outdoor Project. They have received pushback from neighbors and the MAC board. On April 16, the organization will participate in its final hearing in front of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to determine whether or not this program can develop in that location.
