The Castro Valley Women’s Club and the League of Women Voter of the Eden Area asks you to help meet the biggest need of our unhoused neighbors. We are asking organizations, book clubs, schools, exercise classes etc. to participate in a donation drive for new underwear and socks, to benefit the shelters at First Presbyterian and South Hayward Parish. CVWC is hosting the weight in this year, and all participants are invited to join for an ice cream social. Donations of new adult underwear and socks will be weighed by volunteers to determine the winner of the “Golden Thong”, currently held by the Eden Area Chamber of Commerce. Members: Please bag your donations in grocery bags and bring to the November 7 monthly meeting or to any event prior to November 16. There is a collection box in the storage room.
