The Castro Valley Women's Club is offering beginner's bridge lessons to our club members every Tuesday beginning March 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 at our clubhouse. Bridge is a partnership card game played with 4 people. Our classes taught by Linda Cliff, Kathy Stull and Linda Perotti will teach basic bridge concepts including bridge jargon, evaluation of hand, bidding and play of the hand. After an introductory group discussion we will break up into 3 groups with 4 students and 1 mentor at each table. Given this structure we are limiting our class size to 12 women. This 3-mile hike has a 379-foot elevation gain. Given the terrain, hiking shoes, long pants and walking poles are recommended.

Let's get carpools together at the club at 9:00 AM and head to the meeting. Or drive and meet us there. Please RSVP so we know you're coming. We are sharing this request for critical and timely support for Mosaic project. After a decade of planning and $1M in investment, Mosaic Project's permit for a permanent home in Castro Valley is heading to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. This is quite literally a request for Mosaic’s long-term survival; if they are not approved, Mosaic will likely not survive another 10 years. Mosaic Project's biggest program is an outdoor school for a diverse group of 4th and 5th graders. A donor purchased land on Cull Canyon Road and gave it to Mosaic to use for their outdoor school program. They have received pushback from neighbors and the MAC board. On March 5, the organization will participate in its final hearing in front of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to determine whether or not this program can develop in that location. We will depart at 8:45 AM. Directions to the staging area are included below for drivers. We will start the hike on Bollinger Creek Loop Trail, turn onto the Las Trampas Ridge Trail and return to the parking lot via Chamise Trail. It is a 2.9 mile loop with 718 feet of elevation gain. CV Collage Club is excited to partner with the Castro Valley Women’s Club for a relaxed, creative vision board gathering. We’ll begin with a very brief introduction to vision boarding, then most of the time will be open for collaging, chatting, and creating at your own pace. There’s no pressure to create something finished or meaningful, and sharing at the end will be completely optional. Come however feels right to you. Some people like to bring images, words, or quotes they’ve already collected. Others prefer to show up and work intuitively with whatever catches their eye that day. Both approaches are welcome — there’s no homework and no preparation required. What to bring - Scissors, markers, or any art supplies you enjoy - Magazines, images, photos, or paper to use or share. We will also have plenty on hand. - A snack or beverage to share Collage Club will have poster boards and glue sticks available. Please RSVP by Friday, January 23 so we can plan tables and supplies. We’re looking forward to a fun, easygoing afternoon of creativity and connection, and to welcoming both Collage Club members and Castro Valley Women’s Club members into a great shared space. ABOUT CV COLLAGE CLUB We are a light-hearted social group that brings women together to connect over collage and creativity. Our gatherings are casual, welcoming, and low-pressure — no art experience required, no expectations to share, and no “right” way to create. Some people come to make art, some to socialize, and many do a bit of both. This event is designed to reflect that same spirit.
